Sigma Phi Epsilon Massachusetts Beta is privileged to have the ability to give back to our community. Philanthropy is defined as the desire to promote the welfare of others, expressed especially by the generous donation of money to good causes. Massachusetts Beta takes great pride in the work we do for our community.
Since 1963, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been fostering supportive relationships with community volunteers and children in need. In 2015, Sig Ep declared BBBS to be our official philanthropy, further solidifying our bond to this group. We currently have over 25 brothers involved with BBBS on a weekly basis. Each brother is paired with a 'little' which they spend 1-2 hours a weeks with to help them with homework, play games, and most importantly, be a positive role model for them. |

St. Baldrick's is a national foundation with a mission to conquer childhood cancer. Every year, in November, Mass Beta hosts a campus wide event to raise money for this great foundation and promote their mission. At this event, there are volunteer barbers to shave participants heads to raise awareness for this cause. This past year, the event generated more than $10,000 in donations and we had over 30 brothers shave their heads. | |
